Consequently, there are four products you can select from to implement your website design from Ten Keyboards.

Website Design Analysis

If you already have a site for your business, the first step is an analysis of what is on the site. After filling out the Ten Keyboards questionnaire you get when you purchase the product, I use the answers–and some tools–to see how your site is getting your message across to your customers.

You can use this analysis as a standalone report if you are simply looking for an outside viewpoint of your site or to see what will need completing later. Or, you and I can use this report as the basis for creating a project to redo your existing site.

This report will cover the following:

  • Your business objectives for your site with what matches and doesn’t match the objectives
  • Your overall keyword analysis from the site and how it ranks on Google
  • Your keywords on each of up to 15 pages of content on your site using search engine tools
  • Critique on each of up to 15 pages of content on your site
  • An opinion of how your site compares to those of your closest competition
  • An opinion on what is working, what needs improvement, and next steps needed for your site

Again, you can use this report for your own information or to develop a project to redo your own with Ten Keyboards or other vendors. The price for the Ten Keyboards Website Design Package is $397.00 and will be completed ten days from the time your questionnaire is returned to me.

Basic Website Design Package

This product is designed to create a site for your business when you do not have a current site. There are multiple steps associated with creating a your spot on the Internet. The product includes:

  • Purchasing a domain name (cost not included in the Ten Keyboards pricing, typically around $10 for one year). I can recommend domain names available that would match your needs, but typically, the starting point would be the name of your business.
  • Purchasing web hosting for the website (cost not included in Ten Keyboards pricing, but typically from $10 a month to $50 a month depending on your needs). I have a couple of different reputable hosting firms I would recommend (they are not your typical hosting companies).
  • I assume you have an electronic logo we could use for your business. If you do not have a logo, purchasing a logo for your site (cost not included in the Ten Keyboards pricing, but typically from $100 and up). I can recommend a logo creation vendor for you that I use for my sites.
  • Layout for a website design of up to 15 pages (including one of those pages as a blog, if you desire)
  • Set up of the infrastructure. This includes the software, plugins and parameters for the site.
  • Set up of the security. No set of security applications is perfect, but you will have far more security from hackers than most similar sites.
  • Set up of your site search engine optimization. This is where the site “meta” information is set up with your appropriate keywords to match up your business objectives to Google, Bing, etc.
  • Using your text and writing along with my text and writing, putting the appropriate content into each of the pages of your site based on the design.
  • Using pictures, where appropriate.
  • Optimizing each page of the website for the correct keywords for search engines. This includes the page headings, subheadings, text, and behind the scenes summaries and keywords read by search engines only.
  • Matching up your logo and the colors used on the site.
  • Creating the appropriate sidebars and boxes for each page on the site.
  • Creating up to five e-mail accounts for the site
  • Setting up your website analytics — the numbers for how your site is performing on the Internet.
  • Supplying the project documentation–the logins, passwords and other technical information for you so that you have it as a reference for any future work.
  • You will see the website design in its entirety as we proceed on the project and will approve it before going live.

Once your questionnaire is returned, I will develop a project plan for the project, including dates, and we will than have a call to cover the plan and get your permission to proceed with the work. Typically, a web site this size will take about twenty calendar days to complete. Obviously, this can be done much quicker if need be, based on my schedule at the time.

Website Redesign Package

This product is for redesigning a current site with new and improved material and design. There are a surprising number of old websites that have not kept up-to-date with their current business practices, much less the current implementation of good search engine design.

This takes longer to do than a brand new site. Surprising, but accurate. With a new site, everything follows a simple process from beginning to end. Redesign, however, is more complex. Here’s why:

  • We must do no harm. We have to discover and settle on what is working for your current site, what isn’t working and then preserve what is working. There is a lot of analysis in doing that work and it takes some good amount of time to go through it.
  • Installation of a new site can be much more difficult. Oftentimes, the client will need to change hosting companies, or the company that points your domain to the hosting company. Repointing the domains can be simple, moving the management of the domain to a different company is not as easy.
  • Going live at cutover is more critical. It isn’t like a new site where going live and having something go wrong for a couple of days won’t necessarily be that hard to handle. Existing sites have existing traffic and that needs factoring into the cutover.
  • Frankly, there are more emotions at play. Changing from an existing site is harder than building something brand new as you have already invested into your current site. It takes longer to look at the changes to ensure they work best for you and it takes more changes on the new site to get there.

What I provide is the work done in the Website Design Analysis plus the work done in the Basic Website Design Package. You will see the redesign as it moves along in my build-out area so that we have a very interactive work structure to make the changes.

Custom Website Design

This is simply a unit cost that can be used for minor changes, maintenance of your site, or additional charges for work outside the scope of a project. Custom means I can tell you how much the changes will cost and I will complete the tasks based on my quote for the work. Note: there is a $100.00 minimum for any of this work, regardless of how little time it may take to complete.
