A Writer’s Domain Name

keyboard computer 290533 mOne of the great challenges of a writer is finding a domain name that makes sense. Sure, I was lucky enough to get scotherrick.com as a domain name — but that was strictly because I only spell my name with one “t.” That other Scott site (Greetings from Zurich) was already taken. And I’m going to use my name site to offer up the equivalent of an online resume.

So here I am with Ten Keyboards, an oblique reference to ‘100 monkeys typing’ and assuming something good will get written about technology for writers if I just were to use ten keyboards for writing.

I needed a name that signified writing and technology at the same time. I spent a weekend trying out some names that made sense to me and were available. I don’t know if Ten Keyboards makes sense, but it was available!

Well, what’s a writer to do outside of thinking up cool words over a weekend? Engage the services of Picky Domains. You describe the site you are trying to build, the key words you are looking for, the ideas you are trying to convey and they will provide you with names for a $50 fee.

Pick a domain name from their list and you are good to go.

Picking a domain name is part luck, part serendipity, and part skill. Having a service that offers you domain names instead of just telling you if a domain name is available is a great service.
